General Bloomer is Chairman of the Board of Ironhawk. He retired from 31 years of active military duty, where he was last the commanding general of the Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro and the commander of Marine Corps Air Bases, Western Area. A highly decorated veteran, General Bloomer was awarded two Legions of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, a Bronze Star with combat V (for valor), 17 Air Medals, the Republic of China Kuang Hua Medal and numerous other campaign medals. His other career highlights include:

• Recognition by President Reagan for Installations Excellence two consecutive years, 1984-1985
• Head of legislative liaison for the U. S. Marine Corps, 1981-1983
• Special assistant and Marine Corps aide to the secretary of the Navy, 1976-1979
• 330 combat missions flown in Vietnam as a photo and electronic reconnaissance pilot
• R&D test pilot at the Naval Air Test Center, Patuxent River, MD, 1965-1968

General Bloomer was previously the executive director of the Orange County Regional Airport Authority (OCRAA), comprising 14 Orange County cities representing over one million Orange County residents. He joined OCRAA in 2001. Prior to that, between 1986, when he retired from active duty, and 2000, he was executive vice president, principal officer, and major shareholder of American Protective Services (APS), the fourth largest privately-held contract security company in the nation. General Bloomer has previously been a Director for numerous firms, including the RNC Liquid Assets Fund, a $125 million publicly-held mutual fund (he was Chairman between 1990-1992), the RNC Mutual Fund Group (six publicly-held mutual fund companies), and Avtel Services, Inc., a privately held aircraft services company.
